The Dream Renovation Schedule for a Dublin Townhouse
5 points to follow to ensure that your Dublin renovation goes smoothly and to schedule
We all love when a plan comes together. You find the perfect property and cannot wait to be able to enjoy a freshly brewed coffee in your gorgeous kitchen sitting on the perfect chair selected for its style and quality.
This is what we create but the finishes are the really exciting part. When you are sitting on that chair you want to see perfect paint finishes and carpentry with smooth joins and tiles that finish at the perfect point with a matching trim.
Here is how to achieve this... choose RK Designs! or follow my expect tips.
1. List the work required in order of difficulty. The bathroom and kitchen require the most expert tradespeople and these must be chosen at the start of the project. Choose your tiler, plumber, plasterer, floor fitter, stone mason etc and book them in to the month you intend to start.
2. Fabrics, choose your window treatments and upholstery fabrics at the early planning stage as these will determine the paint colours. It is best to choose the fabrics first as you don't want to find the most beautiful fabric only to discover the room has already been painted a different shade.
3. Paint colours vary hugely and I use Farrow and Ball as I find the pigmentation in the colour gives a depth to the interior schemes created. Colours such as Pointing and Wimborne white work beautifully on base boards and wood work in a classic scheme. Once the colour scheme and fabrics are all collected and sourced the scheme is ready for implementation.
4. Create a schedule of works and let all stakeholders know their part so that they can see how their delay will affect the other elements of the project. A refurbishment is a collaboration of experts and given all of the information I find the team will work together to achieve the due date.
5. As Ireland is an island there can be delays sourcing some specialised finishes. If you would like some specific items let your designer know well in the advance so they can be ordered in plenty of time to ensure that they are on site when they are needed.
These tips will certainly help your project run smoothly and create harmony among the installation team.
